Methods of Learning

This programme will comprise a combination of demonstration, show & tell and hands-on practice.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of the three modules, learners will be able to:

• Latte Art Workshop
• Understand the fundamentals of steaming and creating different qualities of foam for latte art
• Apply the correct technique of steaming milk using an espresso machine for latte art
• Use proper techniques in pouring latte art / free-pour - Do four (4) Latte Art Designs – Heart, Tulip, Rosetta, Swan

 

• Coffee Appreciation
• Demonstrate how to brew 4 types of brewing methods - Siphon, Moka Pot, V60 Filter and Chemex
• Explain how to use each individual type of apparatus and equipment
• Know the proper techniques for grinding coffee and water temperature in order to achieve optimal extraction
• Complete a worksheet on how to individually use each apparatus appropriately, including the proper measurements of water and the amount of grinds needed

 

• Brew Manually
• Know the roast profile, processing methods, region and taste profile of each bean.
• Input their thoughts and taste profiles individually into their worksheets
• Prepare brews for 5 Different Types of Beans using the cupping method. Guatemala, India, Brazil, Columbia & Ethiopia (ILLY COFFEE).
